Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountain – Zagora (Camel Trek and Desert Camp)
We will meet you in Marrakech and drive to Ouarzazate through the High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka (reaching an altitude of 2260m) as we travel toward the Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah. Beautiful landscapes and Berber villages surround the High Atlas Mountains. The Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah is the largest kasbah in Morocco and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. The Kasbah was once one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road, along which caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory, salt and silk from sub-Saharan countries to Marrakech and beyond. In modern times, the Kasbah served as a filming location for more than 20 popular movies, making it an important destination for international filmmakers. After a tour of the Kasbah, we will have lunch before continuing to Zagora. Upon arriving in Zagora, you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea before setting off on a camel ride led by an experienced guide. Your first night will be spent in the desert, sleeping under the stars, or in a traditional Berber nomad tent.
Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
After breakfast in the camp, we’ll make our way back to Zagora by camel. We will return to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and the Tizi n’Tichka pass, arriving late in the afternoon.
